Work at Levrant
Our practice grows through people who share our curiosity for historic places and our commitment to thoughtful, well-made work. We welcome prospective candidates who bring insight, care, and a willingness to learn. Studio life is varied: one week may involve the quiet detail of a domestic alteration, the next a strategic response to a complex urban site. Across every scale, the historic environment remains our foundation — where academic understanding, technical skill, and design thinking meet. We aim to create a supportive, stretching environment where knowledge is shared openly and each team member develops confidence and ownership in their work. If you’re interested in contributing to a reflective yet dynamic practice, we’d be pleased to hear from you at info@levrant.com
Stephen Levrant Prize
For those considering a career in conservation, the Stephen Levrant Prize underlines our commitment to supporting emerging professionals. In partnership with Oxford Brookes University, the University of York, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Cambridge, we recognise postgraduate students whose work demonstrates rigour, sensitivity, and future promise.

Prize recipients are invited to join our practice for a three-month internship after graduation, where they gain hands-on experience in research, analysis, and participation in live projects. If you are a student or early-career practitioner, you could become one of several past winners — such as Cath Layton, Claire Jackson, Sabrina Kuusisto, and Isobel Conlon — who are now valued members of our team. This prize honours Stephen Levrant’s vision for continuity and his dedication to investing in the next generation.
Work placements
We also maintain a close relationship with various universities, welcoming one undergraduate student each year for a short studio placement. This two-week experience offers a concise introduction to conservation practice — observing how heritage, design, and careful judgement shape day-to-day work.
